Enjoy the work of twenty different artists who participated in Mrs. Cipolla's 2010 Art in the Summer program this year. Students had six lessons over a two-week period. Beginners (entering third grade to fifth grade) studied line, space, and values. They also used cartoons to create space in a composition. Advanced students began with a "warm up" session using a moving still-life. After that class, they worked on a detailed valued drawing, paying close attention to how values affect a sense of space in a piece of art. Their final three sessions were spent painting--one monochromatic painting (acrylic on Canson) and one full-color painting on flat canvas. |
